Man Dies in Bicycle Accident on Lindsay Road and Hunt Highway [Chandler, AZ]
Driver Strikes, Kills Bicyclist in Chandler
CHANDLER, AZ (May 14, 2020) — A 77-year-old man died Saturday following a bicycle accident on Lindsay Road and East Hunt Highway.
The incident happened around 9:00 a.m. while the victim was riding his bike eastbound on East Hunt Highway.
Reports say that the 38-year-old man driver tried turning onto Hunt Highway from Pearl Drive. After that, his 2011 Kia sports SUV struck the cyclist in the bike lane.
Investigations have led officers to believe that although the man had not been impaired, distracted driving seems to have played a role.
Unfortunately, the unidentified bicyclist died in the accident.
No other information surrounding the crash was available.
