1 Hurt in Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Accident on El Cajon Boulevard and Copeland Avenue [San Diego, CA]
Person Seriously Injured in San Diego Pedestrian Accident on El Cajon Boulevard
SAN DIEGO, CA (May 14, 2020) — A 56-year-old suffered grave injuries during last Tuesday’s hit-and-run pedestrian accident on El Cajon Boulevard and Copeland Avenue.
According to the San Diego Police, a white late model Ford Explorer ran a red light and struck the pedestrian around 7:00 p.m.
Inferring from a surveillance camera footage, taken from a business near the crash, the driver failed to stop and continued westbound. It appears the Ford lost a passenger-side mirror during the accident, as well, which should help authorities in the investigation.
Shortly after the accident, paramedics arrived and transported the injured victim to a nearby hospital. The patient sustained a brain bleed, broken ribs and a collapsed lung.
Now, authorities are urging the public to come forward and help them determine the whereabouts of the driver. Those who would like to help should call the San Diego County Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477 or contact the agency online at sdcrimestoppers.org.
Watch out for pedestrians and bicyclists. The roads are dangerous enough and we must all do our part to keep ourselves and others safe. Whether you’re driving or walking, be wary of your surroundings to avoid a crash from happening.
