Michael Groth Killed in Bicycle Accident on Carol Avenue [Phoenix, AZ]
61-Year-Old Bicyclist Struck and Killed by Car near Hatcher Road
PHOENIX, AZ (May 6, 2020) – Police identified Michael Anthony Groth as the victim who got killed in a bicycle crash on Carol Avenue on late Wednesday night.
According to the Phoenix Police Department, the crash happened near Hatcher Road and 7th Street around 11:00 PM.
A report showed that the 61-year-old cyclist did not stop at a northbound traffic light. As a result, a Toyota Corolla hit him.
As a result, Phoenix fire crews took him to the hospital where doctors pronounced him dead. The 26-year-old woman driving the Corolla and her 25-year-old male passenger had no injuries.
The driver stayed on the scene and was evaluated for impairment. However, police did not release additional information about the case.
