SAN DIEGO, CA (May 12, 2020) — A 69-year-old woman sustained injuries following Sunday’s pedestrian crash on Clairemont Mesa Boulevard near Doliva Drive.
According to San Diego Police Officer John Buttle, the 10:30 p.m. accident happened in the 5400 block of Clairemont Mesa Boulevard. The crash occured near the 805 Freeway.
The unidentified female pedestrian crossed Clairemont Mesa Boulevard, southbound outside of a marked crosswalk. After that, a 19-year-old man operating a 2000 Dodge Caravan struck her in the No. 3 eastbound lane.
Police added that the woman attempted to cross in an area that bore a “No Ped Crossing” and a “Use Crosswalk” sign.
Paramedics responded shortly thereafter to shuttle her to a hospital for a pelvic fracture and a head laceration.
