Rider Killed in Motorcycle Accident on 680 Freeway Near Mission Boulevard [Fremont, CA]
Man Dies in Fremont Motorcycle Accident on 680 Freeway
FREMONT, CA (May 11, 2020) — A 20-year-old motorcyclist died Thursday morning after colliding with a sedan on the 680 Freeway near Mission Boulevard.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the Fremont man rode a 2008 Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle behind a 2006 Chevrolet Impala. After that, the motorcycle crashed into the vehicle around 7:00 a.m.
Authorities determined that the 33-year-old Oakland driver of the Chevrolet was in the far-right southbound lane and had slowed down just north of Mission Boulevard due to stopped traffic.
CHP officers added that the motorcyclist was riding at an unsafe speed prior to the crash. The forceful impact ejected the man from the motorcycle, causing him major injuries.
Soon after, paramedics responded and transported him to a hospital in San Jose where he died.
The driver of the Chevrolet Impala sustained no injuries in the collision, CHP officers confirmed.
Due to investigations, officials closed the right two lanes of the southbound freeway for an hour. However, the authorities have yet to determine the full circumstances of the motorcycle accident.
Our law firm would like to take this minute to express its sincere condolences to the friends and family of the victim.
