4 Family Members Dies in Escondido Pedestrian Crash
ESCONDIDO, CA (May 7, 2020) — A tragedy unfolded Tuesday when four pedestrians were fatally struck by a driver at San Pasqual Valley Road and Oak Hill Drive.
The accident happened at San Pasqual Valley Road and Oak Hill Drive shortly after 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 5.
According to the California Highway Patrol, 50-year-old Carmela Camacho and 33-year-old Abel Valdez along with Camacho’s two grandchildren; Emmanuel Riva, 11, and Yovanny Felix, 10, were walking in the area. A 2014 Mazda3, driven by a 28-year-old Escondido woman, then struck them.
Valdez and Riva both died at the scene.
Paramedics transported Camacho and Felix to Palomar Medical Center. However, both died while undergoing treatment.
The driver sustained minor injuries. However, she did not appear to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
A woman identified as the mother of the two boys and the daughter of the woman who died set up a GoFundMe page Wednesday. In addition, she identified the man who died as her mother’s boyfriend.
An investigation into this fatal incident is ongoing.
Our law firm would like to take this moment to express its deepest condolences to the bereaved families and friends of Carmela Camacho, Abel Valdez, Emmanuel Riva, and Yovanny Felix.
