Holly Rood Killed in Pedestrian Crash on De Anza Drive [San Jacinto, CA]
Holly Rood Fatally Struck by Car on De Anza Drive Near Main Street
SAN JACINTO, CA (May 7, 2020)—A 25-year-old woman perished in a pedestrian crash Wednesday on De Anza Drive near Main Street.
According to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, the pedestrian accident befell before dawn, sometime around 4:20 a.m.
A news release indicated that a driver of a Hyundai Elantra, traveling southbound on De Anza Drive, struck the pedestrian in the middle of the roadway.
The unidentified driver stopped and contacted 911, drawing deputies to the scene to find a woman lying in the street. Not long after their arrival, they pronounced Holly Rood, the woman identified by coroner’s officials, deceased at the scene.
It’s unclear at this point where the fault lies or the events that took place prior to the impact; however, investigators urge witnesses to come forward and contact their offices at 951-654-2702.
