Man Killed in DUI Crash on Almaden Expressway [San Jose, CA]
DUI Driver Involved in Fatal Crash near Branham Lane
SAN JOSE, CA (May 3, 2020) – Police confirmed that a man died in a DUI crash on Almaden Expressway on early Sunday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened near Branham Lane around 12:15 AM.
Reports from the San Juan Police showed that three vehicles were involved in the crash. A 32-year-old man driving a 2006 Nissan Murano ran a red light and collided with a 2004 Hyundai Tiburon. As a result, the Hyundai hit a 2019 Tesla that stopped at the intersection.
The driver of the Hyundai died at the scene. However, police did not release his identity at this time.
The driver of the Tesla did not suffer injuries. However, paramedics transported the driver of the Nissan to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The Nissan driver will be booked into Santa Clara County jail on vehicular manslaughter and DUI charges. However, police did not release any other details.
