AZUSA, CA (April 27, 2020) – At least five people suffered injuries in a head-on crash at Highway 39 on Monday afternoon.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened near East Fork Road around 2:32 PM.
A report showed that a black Chevrolet Colorado collided head-on with a white Mitsubishi 3000GT. It was not clear if the incident was related to wrong-way driving.
Paramedics said that three of the five patients suffered serious injuries. They were airlifted to hospitals for treatment. The other two victims were transported by a ground ambulance.
The two-lane road closed in both directions while rescue and clearing operations took place in the area.
