Driver Dies in Crash on 15 Freeway Near 8 Freeway Interchange [San Diego, CA]
Driver Killed, Passenger Injured in San Diego Fiery Accident
SAN DIEGO, CA (April 28, 2020)—A fiery Sunday morning crash on 15 Freeway near the 8 Freeway interchange left one person dead and another injured.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident, which authorities have yet to investigate, occurred around 12:16 a.m. in the Mission Hills area.
Witnesses say a vehicle crashed on the southbound 15 Freeway and Good Samaritans were seen breaking the window and pulling the passenger from the fiery accident. Unfortunately, the driver was still inside the burning car.
Shortly after, CHP officers closed the southbound 15 Freeway and the transition to the southbound 15 Freeway lanes. By 5:30 a.m., they lifted the closure, allowing commuters to pass through.
