Woman Struck and Killed by Train on Fernald Point Lane [Montecito, CA]
Coast Starlight Involved in Fatal Pedestrian Crash in Montecito
MONTECITO, CA (April 25, 2020) – Authorities confirmed that a woman died after an Amtrak train struck her near Fernald Point Lane on Saturday afternoon.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 12:25 PM. The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Department said the victim was hit by a northbound Coast Starlight.
Paramedics said the woman died at the scene. However, her name was not available pending notification of relatives.
Additional details were not immediately available. However, an investigation is ongoing.
