Cyclist Fatally Struck by Driver in Fullerton
FULLERTON, CA (April 23, 2020) — One person died after a bicycle crash on Orangethorpe Avenue near Brookhurst Road Tuesday afternoon.
According to the Fullerton Police Department, the incident occurred around 3:00 p.m. in the 1900 block of Orangethorpe Avenue. As a result of the crash, the bicyclist sustained grave injuries. However the victim died moments later, despite life-saving measures.
Police had no information concerning the victim’s identity. They did confirm that neither alcohol nor drugs played a role in the accident.
Following the crash, officials closed a section of Orangethorpe Avenue as they scoured the scene for evidence that could help them determine the cause. At this point, they are hoping for witnesses to come forward to help them ascertain what had transpired.
