Ruth Howard Killed in Rollover Crash on South 18th Street [Yakima, WA]
Vehicle Overturned in Fatal Crash near South Fairfax Road
YAKIMA, WA (April 18, 2020) – Authorities identified Ruth Howard as the victim killed in a rollover crash on South 18th Street on Saturday afternoon.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the accident happened near Pacific Avenue around 3:30 PM.
The 34-year-old Yakima woman was driving north on 18th Street when her vehicle left the roadway and rolled over.
As a result, the victim was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene. Her 10-year-old daughter was in a rear seat and wearing a seat belt. She suffered minor injuries.
Several witnesses said Howard was speeding before the accident. Alcohol was also considered a factor in the incident. However, an investigation is on-going.
