Passenger Critically Injured in DUI Accident on Interstate 5 [Seattle, WA]

Elderly Woman Charged with DUI after Rollover Crash just South of Interstate 90 in Seattle

SEATTLE, WA (January 25, 2021) – Late Wednesday morning, a passenger was critically injured following a DUI Accident on Interstate 5.

Shortly before 11:00 a.m., an elderly woman driving an SUV was attempting to change lanes on northbound I-5. There, she struck a sedan and then side swiped a second vehicle.

Due to the impact, the SUV and the sedan rolled over multiple times. Seattle Police located both vehicles on their roofs, just south of Interstate 90. Both vehicles were said to have sustained significant damage.

The female driver of the SUV suffered non life-threatening injuries and was taken into custody. At this time, officers are processing this case as an assault. The passenger of the SUV suffered significant injuries. However, there has been no update on their current condition.

Traffic on the highway extended for miles. Although, all lanes are now reopened to the public.
