One Killed in Hit-and-Run Bicycle Crash on Jackson Street [Paramount, CA]

Bicyclist Fatally Struck by Hit-and-Run Vehicle near Colorado Avenue in Paramount

PARAMOUNT, CA (January 7, 2021) – Early Thursday morning, one person was killed in a bicycle crash on Jackson Street near Colorado Avenue.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened around 6:30 AM. Based on a report, the victim was riding south along a bike lane prior to the crash.

For unknown reasons, the bicyclist veered into a traffic lane where they were eventually struck by a passing vehicle. The vehicle then temporarily slowed down before fleeing the scene.

Emergency crews arrived and treated the bicyclist on scene before taking him to a nearby hospital. However, he eventually succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. The victim’s name has not yet been released pending kin notification.

Additionally, the Riverside Police Department has not provided details about the suspect’s vehicle. They ask anyone with information to call Detective Anderson at 951-826-8723.
