Big-Rig Involved in Fiery Crash on 91 Freeway in Anaheim
ANAHEIM, CA (January 7, 2021) – Police confirmed that a driver was killed in a big-rig crash on eastbound 91 Freeway on Thursday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near Kramer Boulevard shortly after 3:00 AM.
Based on a report, the car-hauling big-rig slammed into the center divider on the freeway. However, the details that led to the accident were not immediately available. Subsequently, the big-rig caught fire.
As a result, emergency crews said the big-rig driver died in the incident. Officials did not yet release the victim’s name pending kin notification.
Authorities issued a SigAlert to close all eastbound lanes for about two hours as crews cleared the scene. At this point, the cause of the collision is not yet known. However, officials continue to investigate the case.
