Man Killed in Motorcycle Crash on Torrey Pines Road [La Jolla, CA]

19-Year-Old Motorcyclist Fatally Struck on Torrey Pines Road in La Jolla

LA JOLLA, CA (January 7, 2021) – Police confirmed that a 19-year-old man was killed in a motorcycle crash on Torrey Pines Road, Thursday afternoon.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened at approximately 1:15 PM.

Based on a report, the young man was headed north on the road when he lost control of his 2019 Honda sportbike. Consequently, he crashed into a center divider wall, hurling him onto the other side of the street. Subsequently, a southbound 2014 Acura SUV struck him.

As a result, the San Diego police said the victim died at the scene. Officials did not release his name pending kin notification.

At this point, officers do not know what led to the collision. However, the San Diego Police Department continues to investigate.
