Matthew Edward Sherman Dies in Pedestrian Accident on East 22nd Street [Tucson, AZ]
Pedestrian Struck and Killed by Vehicle on East 22nd Street near South Park Avenue in Tucson
TUCSON, AZ (January 7, 2021) – Police identified Matthew Edward Sherman as the victim who died in a pedestrian accident in the 400 block of East 22nd Street on early Thursday morning.
According to Tucson Police, the collision happened near South Park Avenue around 4:30 AM.
Based on a report, officers found Sherman lying on the road. They determined that the man was crossing 22nd Street from south to north and not in a crosswalk when struck by an eastbound 2007 Ford Fusion.
As a result, Sherman died in the incident. Officials identified him as a 46-year-old man.
The driver remained at the scene and was cited for a corrective lens restriction violation.
At this point, the investigation into the case is ongoing.
