Fatal Pedestrian Accident Involving Hit-and-Run Driver Reported on Beverly Boulevard in Los Angeles
LOS ANGELES, CA (January 8, 2021) – Police identified Jonathan Eduardo Gomez as the homeless person who died in a pedestrian crash on Beverly Boulevard on early Friday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near Normandie Avenue around 2:00 AM.
Based on a report, police officers found the victim lying in the street. Prior to that, a vehicle reportedly struck him while he was on the road. However, officials did not yet release the details that led to the accident. Subsequently, the driver fled the scene without rendering aid to the patient.
As a result, Los Angeles police said the victim died in the incident. The coroner’s office identified him as a 25-year-old homeless man.
As of now, a description of the suspect vehicle or driver is not immediately available. However, officials ask anyone with information on the case to call 877-LAPD-247. In addition, an investigation into the case is ongoing.
