62-Year-Old Man Killed in Pedestrian Crash on Highway 16 [Gig Harbor, WA]
Pedestrian Struck and Killed by Vehicle on Highway 16 in Gig Harbor
GIG HARBOR, WA (December 10, 2020) – Officers are trying to identify a 62-year-old man who died in a pedestrian crash on Highway 16 on Sunday morning.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the collision happened at the on-ramp from Burnham Drive.
Based on a report, the Port Orchard victim was walking eastbound on the shoulder of the highway at the time of the crash. Due to unknown reasons, he crossed the lanes and was struck by a van traveling east.
As a result, emergency crews pronounced the pedestrian dead at the scene. Neither the driver of the van, a 32-year-old Kent man, nor the passenger was hurt in the incident.
Police don’t have other details to share. However, an investigation into the case is ongoing.
