One Dies in Head-On Crash on Highway 65 [Ducor, CA]
Car and Semi-Truck Involved in Fatal Head-On Crash on Highway 65 near Avenue 32 in Ducor
DUCOR, CA (December 22, 2020) – Police confirmed that one person died in a head-on crash on Highway 65 on Tuesday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near Avenue 32 shortly before 5:00 AM.
Based on a report, a black Dodge Charger was traveling on the highway prior to the crash. Due to unknown reasons, the car tried to pass another vehicle and collided with an oncoming semi-truck that was hauling 7,500 gallons of diesel fuel. Subsequently, the Dodge overturned and the driver was pinned inside the vehicle.
As a result, the Dodge driver died at the scene. Officials did not yet release the victim’s identity pending kin notification.
Authorities said there was low visibility along the highway due to dense fog. At this point, the crash is still under investigation.
