Justin Neva Struck and Killed by Vehicle in Hit-and-Run on Nelson Avenue near Fogg Avenue in Oroville

 
OROVILLE, CA (December 20, 2020) – Police identified Justin Neva as the victim who died in a hit-and-run on Nelson Avenue on Sunday morning.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near Fogg Avenue around 9:00 AM.
 
Based on a report, Oroville Police Department officers found the Berry Creek man lying on the sidewalk. Prior to that, he was standing next to his parked vehicle on Nelson. At the same time, police said another car that was traveling westbound veered off to the north shoulder. Subsequently, it collided with the victim’s vehicle causing it to struck the man. The driver of the vehicle left the scene on foot without rendering aid to the victim.
 
As a result, medical personnel pronounced 57-year-old Justin Neva dead at the scene.
 
Later on, Oroville Police and Fire Dispatch said the driver called and provided his current location. Authorities then arrested 30-year-old Andrew Arrieta, of Oroville, for Hit and Run causing injury/death, and was booked into the Butte County Jail.
