Vehicle Overturned in Deadly Crash on Highway 50 in Fernley

 
FERNLEY, NV (December 13, 2020) – Officers identified Melanie Taylor as the victim who died in a car crash on Highway 50 on Sunday morning.
 
According to the Nevada Highway Patrol, the collision happened about a half-mile east of Farm District Road around 8:50 AM.
 
Based on a report, the snow fell on the highway before the crash happened. Due to unknown circumstances, the victim’s vehicle crashed and overturned in the lanes. It was not yet clear if there were other vehicles involved in the incident.
 
The Washoe County Regional Medical Examiner’s Office identified the driver of the car as Melanie Taylor, 59, of Fallon.
 
The cause of the crash is under investigation. No other details are immediately available.
