Parminder Singh Injured in Fatal Head-On Crash on Highway 145 [Madera County, CA]
One Killed, Two Injured in Madera County Crash on Highway 145 near Avenue 9 1/2
MADERA COUNTY, CA (December 19, 2020) – Police identified Parminder Singh, 19, as the victim who suffered injuries in a fatal head-on crash on Highway 145 on Saturday afternoon.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near Avenue 9 1/2 at approximately 12:30 PM.
Based on a report, a Lexus RX300 was traveling northbound on the highway at about 55 mph. At the same time, a Chevrolet Cruze was heading southbound. As the Chevy approached, it crossed over painted double yellow lines into the opposing lane and collided with the Lexus. Subsequently, the Lexus spun clockwise and came to the rest on the east shoulder. In addition, the Chevy went off the east side of the road and burst into flames.
As a result, emergency crews pronounced a man inside the Lexus, a 30-year-old from Madera, dead at the scene. Crews took the driver and another woman, both 31 and from Fresno and Reedley, to Community Regional Medical Center. Crews also transported Singh and his 23-year-old passenger, both from Kerman, to CRMC.
Police said they do not suspect alcohol and drugs to have been a factor in the crash. However, the investigation is ongoing.
