One Hospitalized after Bicycle Accident on Mission Road [South San Francisco, CA]
Bicycle Struck and Injured by Truck on Mission Road and Chestnut Avenue in South Francisco
SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, CA (December 15, 2020) – Medics transported one person to the hospital after a bicycle accident on Mission Road on Monday afternoon.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near Chestnut Avenue around 3:30 PM.
Based on a report, the South San Francisco resident was riding the bicycle in a marked crosswalk at the intersection at the time of the crash. Due to unknown reasons, a truck came and hit the victim.
Subsequently, emergency crews immediately transported the cyclist to a hospital for injuries. Fortunately, they did not consider the victim’s condition as life-threatening.
The driver remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation. Upon assessment, neither drugs nor alcohol appeared to be contributing factors to the collision.
