One Dead, One Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash on Lincoln Boulevard [Oroville, CA]
Two Vehicles Involved in Fatal Crash on Lincoln Boulevard near Monte Vista Avenue in Oroville
OROVILLE, CA (December 17, 2020) – Police confirmed that one person died in a two-vehicle crash on Lincoln Boulevard on Thursday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near Monte Vista Avenue around 8:10 AM.
Based on a report, a teal-colored sedan was heading north on Lincoln Boulevard prior to the crash. Due to unknown reasons, the driver lost control at a curve and swerved into oncoming traffic. Subsequently, the sedan hit a Toyota heading in the opposite direction.
As a result, the driver of the Toyota died in the incident. Officials did not yet release the victim’s name pending kin notification. In addition, emergency crews transported the driver of the sedan to the Enloe Medical Center with major injuries.
Officers from Oroville CHP said the combination of slick roads and high-speed driving are the biggest factors leading to the collision. However, an investigation into the case is still ongoing.
Be cautious around big vehicles like big rigs to avoid getting into a crash. However, manage your speed and always follow road regulations. Above all, always check your tires to prevent accidents caused by a tire blowout.
