Michele Panello, Tyler Ott Killed in Two-Vehicle Accident on Highway 9 Near 172nd Street East
SNOHOMISH, WA (December 18, 2020)—Two people died Wednesday evening in a two-car accident on Highway 9 near 172nd Street East.
According to Washington State Troopers, a driver of a Honda Civic tried entering the northbound lanes of Highway 9 from 172nd Street East. However, as the vehicle slowed down to make a left turn, crossing the southbound lanes, it collided with a pickup truck towing a trailer.
During the investigation, authorities learned that the driver was unable to stop the truck before the collision.
As a result of the accident, 49-year-old Michele Panello and her passenger, 28-year-old Tyler Ott of Snohomish, perished in the collision. The driver of the pickup truck escaped harm.
Since the cause of the accident has not been confirmed, detectives encourage witnesses with information to call the department.
