Baldemar Bermudez Detained Following Hit-and-Run Three-Car Accident on Highway 29 at Highway 12
NAPA, CA (December 17, 2020)—Two people suffered serious injuries during Monday’s hit-and-run DUI accident at Highway 29 and Highway 12.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the multi-car accident happened around 8:40 p.m.
The incident happened at a red traffic light when one of the three vehicles rear-ended a stopped vehicle, pushing the car into a third driver. Subsequently, the driver who struck the stationary vehicle pulled away and fled the scene.
The driver, however, did not travel too far as officers flagged down the vehicle on Highway 121 near Stanley Lane.
Soon after, police booked 28-year-old Baldemar Chavez Bermudez into Napa County jail after confirming his involvement in the prior three-car accident that left two people hospitalized.
The Sonoma man faces possible charges of felony DUI and felony hit-and-run.
