Hit-and-Run Driver Strikes 2-Year-Old in Lamont
LAMONT, CA (December 14, 2020)—A hit-and-run driver struck and injured a 2-year-old Sunday afternoon near Panama Road and Myrtle Avenue.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident unfolded around 1 p.m. Under unclear circumstances, a driver of an unknown model struck the 2-year-old.
It’s not certain if the child was in a crosswalk or if factors like DUI or speeding played a role.
Soon after the crash took place, paramedics responded and ushered the child to Kern Medical for immediate treatment; however, the extent of the child’s injuries remain unclear at this time.
Detectives have no information about the suspect vehicle involved in this crash but encourage witnesses to call them if they know of anything.
