Man Dies in Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Crash on Hegenberger Road [Oakland, CA]

OAKLAND, CA (December 9, 2020) – Police confirmed that a man died in a hit-and-run pedestrian crash in the 500 block of Hegenberger Road on early Wednesday morning.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near Edgewater Drive around 12:25 AM.
 
Based on a report, an unidentified vehicle struck the victim in the lanes. However, the details that led to the accident were not immediately available. Police said that the driver responsible had fled the scene by the time officers arrived.
 
As a result, the man died at the scene. The Alameda County coroner’s bureau did not yet release the victim’s identity.
