Woman Killed in Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Crash on Fairmead Boulevard [Chowchilla, CA]
Pedestrian Struck and Killed by Hit-and-Run Vehicle on Fairmead Boulevard near Avenue 23 in Chowchilla
CHOWCHILLA, CA (December 13, 2020) – Police confirmed that a woman died in a hit-and-run pedestrian crash on Fairmead Boulevard on Sunday.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened just before midnight near Avenue 23.
Based on a report, an unidentified vehicle struck the victim. However, the details that led to the accident were not immediately available. In addition, it’s also unclear what type of vehicle hit the woman. Subsequently, the driver of the vehicle fled the scene after the crash.
As a result, CHP officers said another pedestrian found the woman dead at the scene. Officials did not yet release the victim’s identity pending kin notification.
Crews said there was heavy fog in the area at the time of the crash. At this point, an investigation into the case is ongoing.
