Two Big Rigs Involved in Crash near Cactus City on 10 Freeway in Riverside County
RIVERSIDE COUNTY, CA (December 12, 2020) – At least three people suffered injuries in a crash on 10 Freeway on Saturday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened about 16 miles east of Indio, near Cactus City shortly before 08:00 AM.
Based on a report, two big rigs crashed in the lanes. Subsequently, both trucks overturned in the incident. However, the details that led to the crash were not immediately available.
As a result, the Riverside County Fire Department said the wreckage trapped one person in one big rig. Emergency crews rescued the victim who suffered moderate injuries. They transported the patient to the hospital in an air ambulance. In addition, two other people suffered minor injuries in the crash.
It’s unclear what led to the crash, but a caller told a CHP dispatcher that a road rage incident was a factor. Aside from that, the witness told the officers that the trucks were driving recklessly prior to overturning.
