Man, Woman Killed in Two-Vehicle Crash on Newport Coast Drive [Newport Beach, CA]
Two Vehicles Involved in Crash on Newport Coast Drive near Pelican Hill Road South in Newport Beach
NEWPORT BEACH, CA (December 8, 2020) – Officers are now working to identify a man and a woman who died in a two-vehicle crash on Newport Coast Drive on Tuesday evening.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near Pelican Hill Road South around 07:45 PM.
Based on a report, a Range Rover and a Nissan collided in the lanes. However, the circumstances that led to the crash were not immediately available. The Rover had one woman inside, while the Nissan carried a man, woman, and three juveniles.
As a result, the Newport Beach Police Department said the man and woman inside the Nissan died at the scene. Officials did not yet release their names pending kin notification. In addition, medics sent the other four people to hospitals for unspecified injuries.
At this point, an investigation into the case is still ongoing.
