Robert Christopher Maughs Arrested for DUI after Fatal Crash on Lake Boulevard in Redding
REDDING, CA (December 8, 2020) – Police identified 19-year-old Jimmie Junior Adkison II as the victim who died in a two-vehicle crash caused by a DUI driver on Lake Boulevard on Tuesday.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near Oasis Road.
Based on a report, Adkison was a passenger in a Toyota 4Runner that was running on Lake at the time of the crash. Due to unknown reasons, the SUV ran a red light and collided with another vehicle.
As a result, the Shasta County Coroner’s Office said Adkison died in the incident. In addition, the driver of the SUV, 24-year-old Robert Christopher Maughs, suffered unspecified injuries. Medics transported him to the hospital for treatment.
Later on, police arrested Maughs on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs.
