One Killed, Four Injured in Multi-Vehicle Crash on 5 Freeway [Castaic, CA]
Multiple Vehicles Involved in Fatal Crash on 5 Freeway near Templin Highway in Castaic
CASTAIC, CA (November 27, 2020) – Police confirmed that one person died in a multi-vehicle crash on 5 Freeway on early Friday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened just south of Templin Highway at approximately 2:51 AM.
Based on a report, a big rig and three vehicles collided in the lanes. The accident trapped three people in one of the vehicles. However, the details that led to the accident were not immediately available.
As a result, one man in his mid-20s suffered fatal injuries. Emergency crews pronounced the victim dead at the scene. Officials did not release the victim’s identity pending kin notification. In addition, at least four people sustained injuries. The Los Angeles County Fire Department said that three of the four victims were in critical condition.
The investigation into the case is ongoing.
