15-Year-Old Driver, Three Adult Passengers Injured in DUI Crash on Highway 2 [Gold Bar, WA]
Suspected DUI Driver Arrested in Hit-and-Run Rollover Crash on Highway 2 in Gold Bar
GOLD BAR, WA (December 9, 2020) – A 15-year-old driver and three others suffered injuries in a DUI crash on Highway 2.
According to the Washington State Patrol, a 43-year-old man was driving a pickup truck westbound on the highway prior to the crash. Due to unknown reasons, he drifted into the shoulder and struck a Honda Fit that was parked alongside the road next to a disabled Honda CR-V. Subsequently, the impact sent the Fit into the CR-V before it rolled over onto its top.
As a result, the 15-year-old driver and three adult passengers in the Fit sustained injuries in the incident. Paramedics transported the victims to local hospitals for treatment of serious injuries. In addition, a report showed none of the four had been in a seat belt at the time of the impact.
Meanwhile, the driver of the truck drove away from the scene. Fortunately, a witness followed the vehicle and called 911, leading the troopers to find the driver about two miles away in a nearby neighborhood. Troopers arrested the vehicle’s driver for investigation of vehicular assault, DUI, and hit-and-run.
Never drink and drive to avoid getting into a crash. In addition, do not run a red light. However, always follow road regulations, especially traffic lights to avoid getting into a crash.
