Woman Killed in Multi-Car Fiery Accident on South Main Street Near East Brasher Road [Roswell, NM]
Driver Dies in Roswell Fiery Accident
ROSWELL, NM (December 8, 2020) — A woman died on December 2 following a fiery multi-vehicle accident on South Main Street near East Brasher Road.
According to a press release, a 2004 Ford F-150 heading southbound on Main Street crashed into a 2015 Dodge Journey. As a result, both cars latched onto each other and continued traveling south on Main Street.
At some point, the Ford detached from the Dodge SUV and ended up crashing into a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado. Subsequently, the Ford continued bearing down Main Street and veered into the northbound lanes where it struck a 2010 Acura and a USPS postal service van.
Unfortunately, the Ford ruptured into flames at South Main Street near East Brasher Road, trapping the female driver of the Ford inside.
With haste, State officers tried to put out the blaze, yet only to find the female driver deceased.
The accident left the Acura driver with critical injuries and the USPS truck driver with minor injuries. However, it’s unclear what drove the accident in the first place, but DUI has been ruled out.
We would like to send our heartfelt sympathies to the family and friends of the victim.
