Mohammad Khesrawi Detained after Deadly DUI Car Crash on 5 Freeway Near Tehama Avenue
GERBER, CA (December 8, 2020) — A 64-year-old woman died following Tuesday’s DUI accident on the 5 Freeway near Tehama Avenue on December 1.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a 2013 Nissan Pathfinder heading northbound on the 5 Freeway collided with the rear of a 2009 Subaru Forester.
As a result of the impact, 40-year-old Ea Douangaphay, of Weed, lost control of the Subaru, and the car overturned.
In its wake, the crash left a 64-year-old Subaru female passenger deceased, after she was ejected from the vehicle.
Along with those harmed, Ting Leutmixay of Weed—another passenger in the Subaru—suffered major injuries and was taken to St. Elizabeth Community Hospital for treatment.
During the investigation, officers arrested Mohammad Khesrawi—the driver of the Nissan—on DUI charges.
