Man Killed in Bicycle Accident on Highway 101 Near North Halcyon Road [Arroyo Grande, CA]
Bicyclist Struck, Killed by Car in Arroyo Grande
ARROYO GRANDE, CA (December 7, 2020) — A Grover Beach man died Thursday in a bicycle crash on Highway 101 near North Halcyon Road.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the 39-year-old man tried crossing the southbound lanes of the highway when the incident occurred.
For unknown reasons, the driver of the vehicle struck the cyclist under unclear conditions. As a result of the impact, the victim flew off his bike and died at the scene.
Following the crash, the driver pulled over and waited for detectives to arrive.
Per investigators, alcohol and drugs do not appear to be contributing factors in the accident but witnesses willing to help authorities should call the CHP at (805) 597-8400.
