Josephlindo Honesto Arrested for DUI after Fatal Pedestrian Crash on Alderwood Drive [Perris, CA]
Pedestrian Struck and Killed by Alleged DUI Driver on Alderwood Drive near Mariposa Way in Perris
PERRIS, CA (December 8, 2020) – Police arrested Josephlindo Honesto following a fatal pedestrian crash on Alderwood Drive on Cactus Road on Tuesday, December 1.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near Mariposa Way around 1:46 PM.
Based on a report, a female pedestrian was walking on the sidewalk in the residential neighborhood at the time of the crash. Due to unknown reasons, Honesto drove his green 1994 Oldsmobile Bravada over the street’s curb and then up and onto the sidewalk. Subsequently, he struck the victim.
As a result, the pedestrian suffered major injuries in the incident. Deputies from Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Perris Station responded to the scene and performed life-saving measures. However, the victim died at the scene. Officials did not yet release the victim’s identity.
With witnesses’ help, deputies soon located the driver, 22-year-old, Josephlindo Honesto, and detained him for further investigation. Later on, they arrested him on suspicion of gross vehicular manslaughter and DUI resulting in death or injury. At this time, the sheriff’s investigation is ongoing.
