Amber Bruhn Arrested after Fatal Bicycle Crash on Lakeshore Boulevard [Lakeport, CA]
73-Year-Old Bicyclist Struck and Killed by Hit-and-Run Vehicle on Lakeshore Boulevard in Lakeport
LAKEPORT, CA (December 8, 2020) – Police arrested Amber Bruhn, 33, of Nice after a fatal bicycle crash on Lakeshore Boulevard on Wednesday, December 2.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened just north of Hill Road East shortly before 2:00 PM.
Based on a report, a bicyclist was traveling southbound on Lakeshore prior to the crash. At the same time, Bruhn was driving a white 2005 Kia Sorrento on the same lane. Due to unknown reasons, the vehicle collided with the bicycle. Subsequently, the impact threw the cyclist over Bruhn’s vehicle and onto the roadway.
As a result, the cyclist suffered severe injuries in the incident. Medical personnel responded to the scene and treated him. However, he succumbed to his injuries from the collision. Officials only identified him as a 73-year-old man from Lakeport.
Officials said Bruhn fled the scene of the collision and left the vehicle at a nearby hotel. Officials later located and arrested her. At this time, an investigation into the case is still ongoing.
