Jonathan Mulkey Killed in DUI Crash on Road 426 [Oakhurst, CA]
DUI Driver Killed, Passenger Seriously Injured in Solo-Vehicle Crash on Road 426 near Meadow View Drive in Oakhurst
OAKHURST, CA (December 3, 2020) – Police identified Jonathan Mulkey as the victim who died in a DUI crash on Road 426 on Saturday evening.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened near Meadow View Drive around 9:30 PM.
Based on a report, Mulkey was driving a Toyota Tacoma on the road when he lost control of the vehicle while approaching a curve. The action caused the pickup to go down an embankment and overturn.
Police said Mulkey was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. As a result, he suffered major head trauma and died at the scene. In addition, his passenger suffered moderate injuries. Medics airlifted the victim to Community Regional Medical Center.
The CHP reported that alcohol was a factor in the crash. However, officers continue to investigate the case.
