Destry Walsh Killed in Pedestrian Crash on Highway 285 [Taos County, NM]
Destry Walsh Fatally Struck by Driver on Highway 285 Near Mile Marker 384
TAOS COUNTY, NM (November 24, 2020)—A 43-year-old man died on Nov. 14 in a pedestrian accident on Highway 285 near Mile Marker 384.
Around 6:05 p.m., New Mexico State Police arrived at the scene where a vehicle struck 43-year-old Destry Walsh.
According to the investigation, the oncoming car struck the Tres Piedras man as he was walking in the middle of the unlit highway.
As a result, Walsh sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene.
As for the driver, he or she escaped harm and did not display signs of intoxication. However, the crash remains under investigation by detectives.
