74-Year-Old Man Dies in Hit-and-Run Motorcycle Crash on Mariposa Road [Victorville, CA]
Hit-and-Run Driver Involved in Fatal Motorcycle Crash on Mariposa Road in Victorville
VICTORVILLE, CA (December 3, 2020) – Authorities confirmed that a 74-year-old man died in a motorcycle crash in the 12900 block of Mariposa Road on early Sunday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened just south of the Red Roof Inn at approximately 2:13 AM.
Based on a report, deputies from the Victorville Police Department and rescue personnel found a motorcycle and an elderly rider down in the lanes. However, the details that led to the collision were not immediately clear.
Subsequently, rescue personnel from the Victorville Fire Department and American Medical performed life-saving efforts to the elderly rider. As a result, the victim died of his injuries. Officials have not yet released the victim’s name pending kin notification.
Later on, officials reported that a possibly an older model-silver vehicle left the scene before first responders arrived. At this time, an investigation by the authorities is still ongoing to identify the suspect vehicle. In addition, they ask anyone with information to contact the Victorville Police Department at (760) 241-2911 or Sheriff’s Dispatch at (760) 956-5001. However, no other details are available.
