Woman Killed in Pedestrian Accident on Ming Avenue [Bakersfield, CA]
Pedestrian Struck and Killed in Accident on Ming Avenue near Valhalla Drive in Bakersfield
BAKERSFIELD, CA (November 21, 2020) – Authorities confirmed that a woman died in a pedestrian accident in the 4700 block of Ming Avenue on Friday evening.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision happened Valhalla Drive around 7:30 PM.
Based on a report, the pedestrian was walking on the road outside of a crosswalk at the time of the crash. Due to unknown reasons, a pickup truck struck her.
As a result, Bakersfield police said the victim died at the scene. Officials did not yet release the victim’s identity. A latest report showed Bakersfield Police Department Sgt. Chance Koerner saying the woman appeared to be a transient.
The driver remained at the scene and was cooperating with investigators. Drugs, alcohol and speed did not appear to be factors in the collision. However, an investigation is still ongoing.
