Selina Yanez Killed, Jesus Perez Detained in Two-Car DUI Collision on West Washington Avenue at North Lowell Street
SANTA ANA, CA (November 23, 2020)—A woman died following Friday’s DUI accident on West Washington Avenue at North Lowell Street.
According to the Santa Ana Police Department, two police officers sitting in a patrol vehicle prior to the 11:20 p.m. accident also sustained injuries.
Per the investigation, a Honda, driven by Jesus Emmanuel Perez, collided with the patrol car after traveling eastbound on Washington Avenue.
As a result, Selina Resendiz Yanez, a 25-year-old Santa Ana passenger in the Honda succumbed to her injuries.
In addition to those harmed were the two patrol officers and Perez, whom officers arrested on suspicion of felony vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated.
