Three Hospitalized in Multi-Vehicle Crash Involving Stolen Vehicle on 16th Street in Phoenix
PHOENIX, AZ (November 17, 2020) – Authorities confirmed that a stolen vehicle caused a multi-vehicle crash on 16th Street on Tuesday morning.
According to the Arizona Department of Public Safety, the collision happened near Van Buren Street shortly before 5:00 AM.
Based on a report, an officer spotted a reported stolen vehicle running the red light near 24th Street. Subsequently, the officer attempted a traffic stop, but the vehicle continued to run. Later on, the vehicle failed to stop for a red light at 16th, causing it to crash into a car and a city bus.
As a result, medics sent two occupants of the reported stolen vehicle to the hospital with serious injuries. In addition, they also took an occupant in the car to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. No one in the bus was hurt in the incident.
At this point, Phoenix police is still investigating the case.
