Emilio Zaragoza Dies in Pedestrian Accident on Highway 94 [Spring Valley, CA]
Emilio Zaragoza Hit, Killed on Highway 94 Near Avocado Boulevard
SPRING VALLEY, CA (November 19, 2020) — A 41-year-old construction worker died during Wednesday’s pedestrian accident on Highway 94 near Avocado Boulevard.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal accident happened around 12:10 a.m.
Inferring from the investigation, a A 24-year-old El Cajon woman veered from the No. 1 to the No. 2 lane for unknown reasons. There, her 2018 Mitsubishi Mirage entered a construction site zone and struck a worker conducting roadway maintenance on foot.
Per news reports, Emilio Zaragoza, of Granite Construction, died in the accident.
At this time, the crash requires more investigation. Thus far, DUI has been ruled out as a possible factor.
