Driver Dies in National City Accident
NATIONAL CITY, CA (November 16, 2020)—A driver died Saturday following a fiery solo-car accident on the 5 Freeway near West 8th Street.
According to reports, the black BMW purportedly lost control and went off the southbound lanes of the 5 Freeway. Consequently, the BMW crashed through a guardrail, traveled down an embankment and slammed into a fence around a Navy property before bursting into flames.
Due to the impact, the force ejected the driver from the vehicle.
Soon after, paramedics and firefighters arrived at the scene to save the victim, but efforts fell short.
According to witnesses, the BMW driver was traveling recklessly right before the accident. If anyone has more information about this fatal crash, please contact local authorities.
