Two Teens Hospitalized in Pedestrian Accident on Shepherd Avenue [Clovis, CA]
Pedestrians Accident on Shepherd Avenue near Peach Avenue in Clovis
CLOVIS, CA (November 6, 2020) – Medics sent two teens to the hospital after a pedestrian accident on Shepherd Avenue on early Friday morning.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision occurred near Peach Avenue shortly before 4:15 AM.
Based on a report, the victims were walking in the road at the time of the crash. Due to unknown reasons, a westbound pickup truck was not able to stop on time and struck the victims.
As a result, the 18-year-old man and the 19-year-old man sustained life-threatening injuries. When first responders arrived, both of them were unconscious. Medics transported them to Valley Children’s for treatment.
The driver stayed on the scene and was the one to call 911.
Officers say the roadway where the crash occurred is dark and are calling it a tragic accident. However, an investigation into the case is ongoing.
Authorities strictly remind motorists to slow down in areas near crosswalks. In addition, give way to pedestrians who cross the street to avoid accidents. Always stay sober, manage your speed, and avoid reckless driving to avoid getting into an accident.
